Kurek AbstractAnalysis of ionic radii, their ionisation energy and the electron binding energy in the highest occupied atomic orbital of elements in their thermodynamically stable state is presented in the paper. It was shown that, for a number of ions of the same electronic configuration, several parameters, like the reciprocal of the ionic radii and the square root of ionisation energy as well as electron binding energy, are linear functions of the nuclear charge of ion (atomic number). A formal agreement of the character of the obtained relationships with the Slater equations describing the energy and the radius of electronic shells in atoms allows us to treat the constants in the obtained equations as an "empirical" effective main quantum number and an "empirical" screening constant.
