Accepted PapersThe section containing accepted papers prior to their appearance in the forthcoming issues of Materials Science-Poland, is available on: Ahead of Print Articles. Current IssueThe current issue (Vol. 43, No. 3, 2025) of the journal of Materials Science-Poland is now available on Sciendo. Back IssuesThe Hydrogenation Process of the Gd3Ni CompoundN.V.Tristan1, T. Palewski1, H. Drulis2, L. Folcik2, S.A. Nikitin1,3 AbstractReaction of intermetallic Gd3Ni with hydrogen and transformation of the crystal structure depending on hydrogen concentration is investigated. It is shown that Gd3Ni belongs to the group of intermetallic compounds which are thermodynamically unstable during hydrogenation and undergo a decomposition into the rare earth hydride and the transition metal. Nickel plays a role of the catalyst in the reaction and supports the formation of GdH3 at low temperatures.
